
Jon Serapion is the head instructor at CJJF Central Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Aiea, HI. Jon began his training in Jiu Jitsu in 2007 and is a black belt under Aldo ‘Caveirinha’ Januario. Jon has been perfecting his art for over 13 years and has a wealth of knowledge in both sport Jiu Jitsu and self-defense Jiu Jitsu.
He keeps up-to-date on new teaching methodologies and incorporates new learnings into each class as he continues to compete and coach in both local and international IBJJF competitions. His method of teaching is both analytical and technique driven, as well as practical and hands-on, a combination that successfully helps to guide and train his students from beginner to advanced levels. Jon focuses on the development of each individual student by actively engaging with them through consistent, patient and constructive feedback.
Jon is intimately familiar with the Central Oahu community having graduated from Pearl City High School where he was a standout baseball player, competed on the wrestling team, and received an athletic scholarship to attend the University of Hawaii and play baseball with the Rainbow Warriors.
He believes in staying respectful and humble throughout his journey and hopes to instill lifelong learning and build lasting relationships with all of his students.
