Caveirinha Jiu Jitsu Family (CJJF) is a premiere Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy with a growing number of affiliated schools worldwide. CJJF has been a culmination of over 25 years of building strong bonds through the gentle art. We provide training to students throughout Brazil, United States, and Europe.
CJJF always provides a safe and clean training environment while ensuring the most effective training experience. At CJJF we strive to help students get the most out of their training. Our academies offer classes for people of all ages and experience levels a chance to learn and have fun in an organized and safe environment. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has helped many people get fit and maintain an active and healthy lifestyle. We welcome people of all skill levels, ages, and genders.

ABOUT OUR STAFF
Jon Serapion
Jon Serapion is the head instructor at CJJF Central Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Aiea, HI. Jon began his training in Jiu Jitsu in 2007 and is a black belt under Aldo ‘Caveirinha’ Januario. Jon has been perfecting his art for over 13 years and has a wealth of knowledge in both sport Jiu Jitsu and self-defense Jiu Jitsu.
Aldo 'Caveirinha' Januario
Aldo Januário, commonly known as “Caveirinha” is a Brazilian jiu jitsu black belt under Carlos Gracie Junior, who is widely recognized as one of the top grappling coaches in the world.
A pioneering figure for the sport in the city of Belo Horizonte – Brazil, Caveirinha developed some of the top competitors in the grappling world.
Aran Shintani
Aran has more than 2 years of experience and continues to grow in his learning and training with the CJJF family. Although Aran is an avid student, he shows his passion by being a positive role model, assisting with the kids and adults fundamental classes.
Cyrus Kim
Cyrus Kim is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt under Aldo “Caveirinha” Januario. Cyrus has been training under Professor Caveirinha for over 8 years and was one of his first students in Hawaii after Professor Caveirinha moved to Hawaii from Brazil.
Melanie Davis
Melanie Davis enrolled her 5 year old daughter in our Kids Program and went from being the mom on the sidelines to eventually finding her way on the mats herself. Now, she and all her 3 children are training together and have become passionate about passing on the love for Jiu-Jitsu to others.
Nick Heintz
Nick grew up with judo, coming from a judo family with a few of his uncles being successful in the sport and his mother a black belt and Sensei at his former club. He began training at the age of 5 and continued to train and compete at the state and national level until graduating high school.
Manly
Manly works as a Senior Military Combative instructor and is currently a brown belt at CJJF Central. He has taught military and law enforcement around the world. He has a comedic approach to his teaching style and will give nicknames to certain positions and moves in hopes that students can absorb the techniques easier.
